Mango, Food and OTOP of Bang-Kla Festival
History
This festival happens as a result of the collaboration of the government agencies, local administration, traders, and people in the Bang-Kla district in order to present good products and good food to tourists, especially the golden Barracuda mangoes which are sweet and aromatic; it is a quality agricultural product that is exported to and widely accepted in Japan. There are many other activities in the event, such as amango contest, fighting fish contest, singing contest, students’ performances on stage, and the sales of Bang-KlaOTOP products. There are also interesting tourist attractions in the Bang-Kla district itself for the tourists to visit, such as Paknam Temple. What is special about this temple is its golden hall. The tourists can also see thousands of Lyle’s flying foxes at Bang-Kla Pho Temple. Cruising around Lud Island is another highlight that cannot be missed in order to experience the way of life of the community by the river, as well as the beautiful houses along the river bank.Furthermore, there is King Taksin the Great’s monument at Paknam Joelo, as a memorial of His victory and wisdom. Lastly, tourists can enjoy the atmosphere at Bangkla Market during the holidays; there are many local products, food, and fresh fruit from gardens selling as souvenirs.
